How Fire is Extinguished
  • A general rule is that three elements of Fuel, Oxygen and Fuel need to be combined if a fire is to survive.

  • By removing any one or more of these three elements than a fire will be extinguished.

  • Some fire systems remove oxygen thus suffocating the fire. (C02)

  • Others cool the heat so that the fire is dowsed. (Water, Halo-Carbons)

  • Finally a fire will self extinguish if the fuel burns out.
